    Job description

    Ignite Your Future:

At QAD, we are building intelligent, adaptive platforms that redefine manufacturing and supply chains. As Director of Engineering (SRM & EQMS), you will own the delivery and technical direction of our Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) and Enterprise Quality Management System (EQMS) products. Leading teams currently staffed in partnership with external delivery partners (such as TCS), you will manage vendor expectations, drive partner accountability, and collaborate closely with Product and senior leadership. This role blends strategic people and partner leadership with deep technical credibility, driving enterprise SaaS products at scale.

The Mission: What You'll Be Building

You will lead and oversee engineering teams building and evolving QAD’s core manufacturing enterprise products:

    • Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) – driving end-to-end supplier collaboration, procurement, and supply chain visibility.

    • Enterprise Quality Management System (EQMS) – delivering quality compliance, process governance, and operational excellence across the manufacturing lifecycle.

You will translate product strategy into seamless execution, managing partner delivery teams (such as TCS) and vendor relationships to ensure predictable delivery, strong architecture, and uncompromising product quality.

Your Impact/ What you will be doing:

    • Partner & Vendor Management: Manage vendor expectations and oversee partner delivery teams (TCS) for SRM and EQMS products, driving accountability, high performance, and alignment with internal goals.

    • Technical Direction & Architecture: Guide system design, architectural decisions, and code quality across enterprise software products, ensuring long-term scalability and maintainability.

    • Delivery & Operational Ownership: Own delivery commitments, product roadmaps, release schedules, and engineering KPIs across both product lines.

    • Product Development Focus: Instill a product-centric development mindset within partner engineering teams, distinguishing commercial software delivery from routine platform maintenance.

    • Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner closely with Product Management, Architecture, Customer Success, and external vendor leads to ensure synchronized outcomes.

    • Quality & Standards: Establish robust code quality, automated testing, CI/CD, and security standards for all outsourced engineering deliverables.

    Required Skills & Qualifications

    Experience & Leadership

    • 10–12+ years of software engineering experience with 4+ years in software engineering leadership roles.

    • Proven experience leading managers and multiple teams delivering enterprise SaaS products.

    • Proven track record of managing external vendor relationships/partnerships and driving high-quality deliverables from outsourced engineering teams is preferred

    • Demonstrated experience leading product-centric development for commercial enterprise software rather than internal IT/platform maintenance.

Core Technical Foundations / What we are looking for

    • Ability to manage vendor expectations effectively and navigate complex partner engagement dynamics.

    • Strong understanding of product lifecycle management, software architecture, and modern engineering practices to oversee partner execution.

    • Ability to guide technical direction, review product architecture, and ensure high quality across third-party development teams.

    • Solid grounding in modern SDLC practices, including CI/CD, automated testing, quality assurance, and security oversight.

    • Familiarity with enterprise SaaS architecture, cloud environments, microservices, and integrations.

    The Mindset:

    • Strategic Thinker: Connects business goals to technical execution and prioritization.

    • People-First Leader: Invests in coaching, feedback, and building inclusive, high-performing teams.

    • Ownership-Oriented: Takes accountability for outcomes, quality, and reliability.

    • Execution-Focused: Balances speed with discipline, delivering predictable results.

    • Continuous Improver: Constantly looks for ways to improve teams, systems, and processes.
