Position Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Program Coordinator to join the Applied Learning (AL) team in Tanzania, as part of RTV’s expansion into new countries of operation. AL serves as RTV’s bridge between data, programs, and people, translating insights from field implementation, research and technology into actionable learning, improved systems, and stronger staff capacity. Departmental functions include developing and updating dynamic knowledge resources to inform learning content and program strategy and ensuring that both quantitative analytics and qualitative field insights continuously shape program evolution and decision-making. The AL team delivers this by working collaboratively across the organization to develop knowledge contents, integrating learning content into digital tools, facilitating cross-departmental consultations, and enabling program improvements through knowledge sharing. Working with teams across East Africa and North America, the Program Coordinator will develop and document complex programmatic information and translate it into accessible, learner-friendly formats and languages for staff and communities. The incumbent will contribute to the iterative learning process from implementation and capturing actionable insights from pilots and field feedback. The ideal candidate will bring strong understanding of local context and language, facilitation, qualitative research, capacity building, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to independently manage projects and drive continuous program learning and innovation.

Key Role and Responsibilities

Translation

• Facilitate machine translation using organizational tools and ensure quality control from English to local language (Kiswahili), of complex program content including guides, manuals, training materials, handbooks, research briefs and other program documents on different crops/ livestock/ household practices (WASH/ healthy household) into accessible, learner-friendly formats primarily for the use of frontline delivery staff.
• Coordinate quality assurance of key machine translated documents with consultants/contractors including overseeing the entire process, developing terms of references (ToRs), coordinating with other departments such as Finance and Administration, and ensuring quality control of the translated outputs.

Knowledge Documentation and Management

• Capture and document program methodology, country adaptation of methodology/implementation, lessons learned, and best practices into handbooks, guides, and training resources.
• Strengthen the quality, consistency and version control for program knowledge resources.

Iterative Learning and Program Adaptation:

• In collaboration with program implementation, lead the process of systematically documenting, capturing, and analyzing how RTV identifies, designs, implements, records, and measures program adaptations to ensure continuous learning, evidence-based decision-making, and scale up.
• Support periodic program review processes by reviewing technical content and facilitating working group discussions to probe for insights, clarify discrepancies, standardize tools/ processes, ensure actionable next steps, document outputs and follow up on action items.

Staff Learning & Capacity Building

• Identify staff learning needs and develop standardized training programs and tools that drive measurable improvement in frontline delivery staff competencies across Tanzania.
• Support in developing micro-learning- contents in local language for staff capacity development through RTV’s digital tools.
• Develop and standardize strong evaluation tools for measuring learning effectiveness.

Qualitative Research & Community Insights

• Support in designing and conducting qualitative research (focus groups, in-depth interviews) in local languages to generate actionable insights for program improvement.
• Analyze and synthesize findings from implementation and pilots to inform program adaptations, improvements and innovations.
• Collaborate with Implementation and Venn teams and triangulate information from multiple sources to feed into program design and organizational learning.

Required qualifications

• Excellent working language of Kiswahili (including major local dialects in Tanzania) and English, to be able to lead effective translation of program learning resources and materials (will be tested as part of the screening process).
• Proven ability to design learning materials and adapt complex technical content into practical, user-friendly formats for front line delivery staff, preferably in a non-profit/international development context.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy and quality of knowledge resources with minimal supervision.
  Excellent facilitation, training, and communication skills for guiding multi- stakeholder discussions and collaborating effectively across levels.
• Strong qualitative research skills: experience designing tools, facilitating focus group discussions and in-depth interviews, and consolidating findings into learning contents.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to critique content, identify gaps, look into the bigger picture and propose improvements.
• Strong project management and organizational skills: ability to take ownership of projects, deliver independently with minimal supervision and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams of contractors/consultants in international development setting.
• Proficiency in MS 365 and MS Office Suites.
• Willingness to travel frequently to field offices and partner communities.

Preferred qualifications

• Familiar with program design, logic models, and M&E frameworks.
• Understanding of livelihoods and poverty graduation programs.
• Fluency in local dialects of Tanzania.
• Familiarity with learning management systems, digital learning tools, or education technology.
• Ability to ride a motorbike for long distances in hard terrains.
• Willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities while maintaining a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment.

Location
The position will be based in Bukoba, Tanzania, with possible relocation to another location within Tanzania and this role requires frequent field visits to project locations within Tanzania.
