Collections Specialist

What You'll Be Doing:

Collections & Recovery

• Manage an allocated portfolio of delinquent customer accounts and drive recovery efforts.
• Achieve assigned collection, recovery, and portfolio performance targets.
• Proactively contact customers through approved communication channels to facilitate account regularization.
• Minimize delinquency levels and support effective portfolio management.

Portfolio Monitoring & Risk Management

• Monitor early warning indicators and identify accounts requiring preventive action.
• Assess customer situations and recommend appropriate solutions.
• Support reduction of portfolio flow rates and provisioning impact.
• Escalate complex cases and potential risks where appropriate.

Customer Engagement

• Negotiate repayment solutions and payment commitments with customers.
• Handle customer queries professionally and provide timely resolutions.
• Maintain positive customer relationships while achieving business objectives.
• Gather customer and market insights to support process and business improvements.

Service Excellence & Operations

• Deliver excellent customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate records of collection activities and customer interactions.
• Meet productivity, quality, and performance standards established by management.
• Support departmental objectives and assist team members where required.

Compliance & Governance

• Ensure adherence to the Bank's collection policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Comply with Central Bank regulations and internal governance frameworks.
• Maintain the highest standards of professionalism and ethical conduct.
• Contribute to maintaining a strong control and compliance environment.

What We're Looking For:

Education

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent qualification.

Experience

• Minimum 1 year of experience in Collections and Recovery, Banking, Financial Services, or a related field.
• Experience handling customer negotiations and delinquent account management is preferred.

Industry Exposure

• Understanding of collections, recoveries, and customer account management.
• Familiarity with financial products and customer servicing environments.
• Exposure to financial statement and cash flow analysis is advantageous.
