    The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Bank Painter & Decorator / General Maintenance Assistant to join our friendly and dedicated Facilities team at New Hall Hospital.

This is a varied, hands-on role where you will support the ongoing maintenance, appearance and upkeep of the hospital. You will primarily undertake painting and decorating duties, alongside general maintenance tasks, helping us to maintain a safe, welcoming and high-quality environment for our patients, visitors and colleagues.

As this is a Bank position, you will work flexibly to support the hospital when required, making this a great opportunity for someone looking for additional work or a role that can fit around other commitments.

    What You’ll Be Doing

    Your duties will include:

    • Carrying out internal and external painting and decorating across the hospital

    • Preparing surfaces, including filling, sanding and making good prior to decoration

    • Painting walls, ceilings, doors, woodwork and other surfaces to a high standard

    • Carrying out minor repairs and general maintenance tasks throughout the hospital

    • Supporting the wider Facilities and Maintenance team with planned and reactive maintenance

    • Identifying maintenance issues and reporting any faults or concerns appropriately

    • Ensuring work areas are kept clean, tidy and safe, particularly when working within patient and public areas

    • Using tools, equipment and materials safely and appropriately

    • Working in accordance with relevant health and safety procedures

    • Helping to ensure the hospital continues to provide a safe, well-maintained and welcoming environment

    What You’ll Bring With You

We are looking for someone who is practical, reliable and takes pride in delivering work to a high standard. If you are an experienced Painter & Decorator or Maintenance Assistant looking for a flexible Bank opportunity where your skills can make a genuine difference, we would love to hear from you.

    Ideally, you will have:

    • Previous experience in painting and decorating

    • Experience of carrying out general maintenance or handyman duties

    • Good practical skills and the ability to undertake a range of minor repairs

    • A good understanding of safe working practices

    • The ability to work independently and as part of a wider team

    • Excellent attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work

    • A flexible and proactive approach

    • Good communication and interpersonal skills

    • A positive, friendly and professional attitude

    • The ability to work sensitively and professionally within a busy healthcare environment

    • A willingness to undertake additional training where required

Previous experience within a hospital, healthcare, commercial or facilities environment would be advantageous, but is not essential.

    What Is a Bank Contract?

A Bank contract at Ramsay Health Care UK offers flexibility, with no commitment to a set number of contracted hours each week. Instead, you will be offered work based on the needs of the hospital and your availability.

Bank working can be an excellent option if you are looking for flexibility, additional income alongside other commitments, or the opportunity to become part of the Ramsay team without committing to fixed weekly hours.

What We Give Back to You

As a member of our Bank team, you can benefit from:

    • Competitive hourly rate

    • Enhanced rates for unsociable hours, where applicable

    • Flexible Bank working

    • Free parking

    • Access to the Blue Light Card
