Role Description

We are seeking an experienced tax leader to own and manage the tax function for a multi-subsidiary e-commerce organization with both U.S. and international operations. This role requires broad technical depth spanning partnership taxation, income tax, withholding tax, and international VAT, and will serve as the primary tax advisor to the VP of Accounting and finance leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own the end-to-end tax compliance calendar across all entities, including federal, state, and international filings
• Manage partnership tax matters, including K-1 preparation oversight, allocations, and partner-level reporting
• Oversee U.S. federal and state income tax compliance and planning across multiple subsidiaries
• Manage withholding tax obligations, including cross-border payments and related filings
• Oversee international VAT compliance and registrations across applicable jurisdictions
• Serve as primary point of contact for external tax advisors and auditors (including CohnReznick) on tax matters
• Identify and implement tax planning strategies to optimize the company's overall tax position

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA required, Master's in Taxation or JD/LLM a plus
• 12+ years of progressive tax experience, including significant exposure to:
• Partnership taxation
• U.S. federal and state income tax
• Withholding tax
• International VAT
• Experience in a multi-subsidiary or multi-entity corporate structure required

Preferred Qualifications:

• E-commerce and/or Amazon experience. Amazon is the crux of the business and strongly valued; a solid e-com background is acceptable.
• Big Four background preferred; mid-sized firm at minimum.
• Retail / consumer goods companies selling DTC and/or through Amazon.
• Indirect/sales tax, international (EU VAT, Mexico) and transaction/M&A exposure.
• Master’s in Taxation or JD/LLM (plus).
