Job Summary:
A Prep Cook is responsible for preparing ingredients and food items for cooks and chefs to ensure efficient kitchen operations. This role involves measuring, chopping, slicing, mixing, and storing ingredients while maintaining food safety and sanitation standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, cutting, and portioning vegetables, fruits, meats, and other food items.
• Measure and mix ingredients according to recipes and kitchen standards.
• Label, date, and properly store food products.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely, including slicers, mixers, and food processors.
• Assist line cooks and chefs with food preparation during service.
• Monitor inventory levels and notify management of shortages.
• Follow all food safety, health, and sanitation regulations.
• Dispose of waste properly and assist with kitchen cleaning duties.
• Receive and stock deliveries as needed.
