    Job description

Did you dream of being an astronaut as a kid, or have a current desire to contribute to space exploration?!  If yes, then this is a unique and opportunistic opening for you!  We are seeking a self-motivated, passionate, detail-oriented individual to be our kick-ass Operations Administrator in Denver, Colorado.

What it’s like to work at Red Canyon:

At Red Canyon we expect and promote a work hard, play hard attitude!  The Red Canyon Operations Team is lean and mean.  The Red Canyon home office is open, fun, flexible, green, and a high-energy, fast-paced environment.  We strive for innovative efficiency.  We put in the effort to exceed our customers’ expectations in contract management, bid and proposal responses, and engineering services.  We are all A-team players, and will expect the same of you.  You will have the opportunity to grow with our small business and share in our triumphs.  On the flip slide, we go out and have fun celebrating our achievements together.  When we win proposals, happy hour is on Red Canyon!

We always have the Sonos bumping, filling our hard-working silence with motivating beats.  The kitchen is permanently stocked with our favorite soft drinks, seasonal beers, tasty snacks, and fun-sized candy!  You’ll work with a group of go-getters at The Castle every day.  Yes, our home office is dubbed, “The Castle!”  You can expect to see the whole team together only on Tuesdays for our operations meetings.  Tuesdays are a long day of internal meetings, but it’s not too bad - Red Canyon always buys us a delicious lunch!  We’re a goofy bunch of nerds who love what we do in - and outside of work.

    What Red Canyon Does:

Red Canyon Software is passionate about “exploring other planets, improving our own.”  Do you want to help a small company make a BIG difference in space by helping humankind reach the stars?  We specialize in building spacecraft, developing renewable energy technologies to help make our planet a better world, and generating cutting edge R&D.

    Who We Need:

This role is the dependable catch-all and process owner for administrative execution across a scrappy, fast-growing Operations environment. The ideal candidate that we are looking for will create a reliable administrative execution layer that keeps routine Operations work moving without requiring senior leaders to be the reminder/follow-up layer. You must be detail-oriented, self-motivated, trustworthy, and can perform quickly and accurately. You will support all areas of multiple businesses, so ability to prioritize is a must.

    Work Arrangement:

Primarily onsite in Denver, CO with potential hybrid flexibility once fully established. Expected to be onsite enough to support office/admin execution needs.

    Responsibilities:

    • Own shared/functional inbox triage, routing, routine responses and follow-up tracking.
    • Support onboarding/offboarding mechanics, employee setup, records and checklists under appropriate oversight.
    • Coordinate routine administrative work across Operations, Contracts, Talent Acquisition, Property and the COO.
    • Manage vendor/admin requests, logistics, registrations, records, employee gifts, office/site tasks and special projects.
    • Maintain SOPs, trackers and documentation so recurring work has clear ownership and closure.
    • Support the Intern with low-risk tasking while permanent process ownership remains with Operations.

    Success Measures:

    • Recurring work is completed on time and without repeated reminders.
    • Issues are researched and escalated before deadlines are missed.
    • Work is documented, organized and closed out.
    • The role creates capacity for higher-level functional owners.

    Required:

    • 3+ years of administrative/operations support experience
    • Experience in handling a wide range of administrative and executive support-related tasks, and ability to work independently with little or no supervision
    • Strong follow-through, discretion, organization and written communication.
    • Comfort supporting multiple functions in a high-growth, multi-hat environment.
    • Microsoft Office Suite competency
    • Refined verbal and written skills
    • Strong organizational skills
    • Reliable team player
    • Ability to self-manage and motivate
    • Capacity to successfully adhere to instructions on repetitive and/or new assignments
    • Effectively prioritize the revolving needs of the company with regular recurring daily tasks
    • Thirst for knowledge
    • Passion for space

    Desired:

    • Experience with shared inboxes, trackers, SOPs, onboarding or office administration preferred.
    • Bachelor’s Degree
    • Experience with Google Suite
    • Experience with Dropbox
    • 10-key skills
    • Customer Service Experience
