Finance Data Manager - Financial Services

Position Accountabilities

Evaluates the impact of new products, product changes, application changes, performance management enhancements and accounting changes on the financial reporting and business intelligence activities of Finance.

Provides input to the development of strategic plans to ensure the application of finance technology solutions maximize the Bank's return on investment.

Directs the design and development process to support the release of new products, product changes, application changes, performance management enhancements and accounting changes. The development process includes maintenance of access to transaction data sources, metadata dimensions, ETL data integration, and target data models of the general ledger and finance information management system (FIMS).

Supports the performance management application production environment monitoring process by investigating and resolving operational problems.

Reviews and approves all general ledger and FIMS application changes in accordance with the Corporate IT and Finance change control processes.

Designs and implements internal controls over data processing activities to ensure data quality and integrity of the general ledger and the finance performance management system.

Performs ad hoc data retrieval and information analysis for finance and business line senior managers as needed.

Maintains effective ongoing communications with the business and IT community and functional management regarding system plans, projects, budgets, expenditures and policies.

Participates in the research and resolution of enterprise data governance issues.

Maintains up-to-date policies and procedures documentation including periodic testing to ensure adherence of policies and procedures.

Manages employees directly. Establishes performance goals, allocates resources and assesses performance for direct subordinates and the section overall.

Ensures proper coordination between assigned staff and all interfacing business units.

Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.

Job Specifications

Req Education or Equivalent Experience

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Experience

- Ten or more years of experience in the banking/financial industry

- Ten or more years of technical experience with banking general ledger and reporting applications

- Five or more years of experience in management

Field of Experience

- Extensive knowledge of banking industry product lines and related operational processes

- Extensive working level data integration knowledge

- Experience leading projects in a cross-functional environment

- Experience in industry accounting and reporting processes

- Experience in new product, application change, and new application implementation processes

- Knowledge of server and mainframe applications used in the banking industry

- Extensive knowledge of Hyperion/Oracle business intelligence and business performance management applications

Administrative/Technical Skills

- Understanding of best practice data modeling techniques

- Development of data models using Erwin

- Development of ETL workflows using Informatica Powercenter

- Analytical and research skills

- Bank product and service knowledge

- Composition skills for preparation of letters, reports and memorandum
