Job Summary

Since established in 1992, Indiana Pickling has been the premier source for steel pickling in the industry. Using a push/pull system, we treat customers’ coiled sheets of carbon-steel with hydrochloric acid, cleaning the product of rust, scale, & debris. After a fresh-water rinse & rust preventative is applied, we re-coil the steel and package it per the customers’ specifications for shipment.

Your primary duty, as an Indiana Pickling Employee is to ensure the customer receives their material in the best condition possible, while working as efficiently as you safely can. The following are general expectations of the entry-level job classes, and are not all-encompassing. All employees are expected to follow instructions by a supervisor or manager, regardless of job description.

Job Function

Entry Labor: The Entry Laborer is to prepare the coils for entry into the line and to help enter each coil in a timely manner. Also, the Entry Laborer is to inspect the steel and report to the appropriate person(s) any condition (tar, sample burns, grease, damage, etc.) which may affect the quality of the product to the customer. The Entry Laborer is responsible for good housekeeping in his work area.

Exit Labor: The Exit Laborer is to band and package steel coils for removal and subsequent shipment to the customer. Also, this individual is to observe the steel for any quality defects & notify the Exit Operator and Quality Inspector. The Exit Laborer is responsible for good housekeeping in his work area.

Required Skills

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be able to pass a background check & drug test.
• Union Facility – International Longshoreman Association Local 2038 [IPPC Division].
• Indiana Pickling & Processing is a joint venture between the Feralloy Corporation [a Reliance company] and Signode Industrial Group LLC .
