Job Summary
Reliance is a steel service center; the main focus of this job is being able to properly operate a Commercial Motor Vehicle, (CMV) as well as knowing how to properly secure a load on a flatbed trailer. Must understand all the requirements per the FMCSA

Function in the Job
Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Job Function
- Oversee daily management of all plant delivery drivers to ensure timely deliveries to RMC customers
- Train delivery drivers to perform a pre-trip truck inspection, quality check loaded material against load paperwork, properly secure the load and help them to correct any problems prior to leaving Reliance
- Ability to problem solve issues with drivers, routes, trucks and customer as delivery drivers complete their routes
- Match up paperwork when the drivers return from delivery
- Route deliveries for next day delivery to ensure the optimal truck/driver usage
- Maintain paperwork for Driver compliance
- Maintain random drug screens and DOT Physicals required for CDL Drivers
- Call the Shipping Office when deliveries are complete or when problems are encountered
- Coordinate pick up of material from customers when needed
- Maintain back orders to ensure they are shipped timely
- Fill-lout/Complete Log Books and Trip Sheets daily
- Monitor Geo Tab daily
- Coach driving using SMART Drive
- Follow all company policies and procedures
- Generate Bills of Lading from Sales Orders
- Monitor GEO Tab Daily
- Coach driving using SMART Drive
Perform Pre/Post inspections of truck and trailer. If any issues are found take to approved vendor for repairs. Work in warehouse assisting other departments
Required Skills
Must have a valid Utah CDL Driver License & Medical Card
Must have a clean driving record
Must have a working knowledge of all regulations pertaining to operating a Commercial Motor Vehicle based on the FMCSA
Read, Write, and understand English
Basic communication skills for dealing with customers, vendors, and other employees
Basic knowledge of steel products is a plus but not a requirement
