Fox Group Canada is significantly expanding its business portfolio, and the role of the Human Resources Business Partner is pivotal to supporting this growth and shaping the future of HR within the organization.

Due to our continued success and expansion in Canada, we are seeking an experienced Human Resources Business Partner to join our team.

    About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and strategic HR Business Partner to support retail operations across multiple brands and provinces.  Acting as a trusted advisor to Store Managers, District Managers, and senior leadership, the HRBP translates business priorities into effective people strategies that drive performance, strengthen leadership capability, and support organizational growth.

The HRBP provides strategic and operational leadership across the full employee lifecycle, with a strong focus on employee relations, talent and performance management, workforce planning, organizational effectiveness, change management, and compliance. Working within a fast-paced, customer-focused retail environment, this role partners with leaders to build strong teams, enhance employee engagement, mitigate people-related risks, and ensure consistent and effective HR practices across brands and regions.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Partner with Store Managers, District Managers, and senior leadership to understand business priorities and translate them into effective people strategies and actions.
    • Build strong partnerships with business leaders to anticipate workforce needs, identify people-related risks, and develop proactive solutions that support business performance and growth.
    • Use HR metrics, workforce trends, and business insights to identify opportunities and support informed people decisions.
    • Conduct strategic store visits to assess leadership effectiveness, culture, compliance, and operational performance
    • Identify leadership and capability gaps and collaborate on targeted development solutions.
    • Support talent reviews, succession planning, and development strategies to strengthen the organization's leadership pipeline.
    • Lead complex employee relations cases, investigations, and risk mitigation, including escalated performance, legal, and compliance matters.
    • Support organizational planning related to growth, restructuring, new roles, store openings or closures, and other business changes.
    • Support organizational design and role clarity to ensure teams and structures are aligned with evolving business needs.
    • Facilitate effective communication and change-management practices across multiple brands, regions, and levels of leadership.
    • Support consistent HR practices across multiple provinces while recognizing jurisdictional requirements and operational differences.
    • Identify compliance risks and partner with appropriate internal specialists to ensure HR practices remain aligned with applicable employment requirements.
    • Ensure cross-provincial and cross-brand compliance with Employment Standards, Human Rights legislation, and Health & Safety regulations (ON, QC, AB, BC)
    • Review employment contract addendums and support policy implementation across all brands
    • Ensure timely, accurate, and appropriate documentation of employee relations, performance, and other HR matters.
    • Oversee HR documentation, system integrity (BambooHR), and reporting (e.g., bi-weekly zero-hour reports, HR KPIs)
    • Participate in the development and continuous improvement of HR policies, processes, tools, and programs based on evolving business needs.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional leaders on multi-provincial, multi-brand HR projects
    • Support Health & Safety compliance by reviewing workplace inspections and leading investigations where required

    Qualifications

    • University degree required; CHRP designation preferred (or in progress)
    • Minimum 3+ years of progressive experience as an HR Business Partner in retail, including significant experience in an HR Business Partner or senior HR advisory capacity.
    • Strong knowledge of Canadian employment legislation across multiple provinces
    • Proven experience in strategic HR advisory, employee relations, investigations, performance management, and conflict resolution
    • Solid understanding of Employment Standards, Human Rights, and Health & Safety regulations
    • High level of discretion, integrity, and sound judgment
    • Strong ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership
    • Excellent communication, facilitation, coaching, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to navigate challenging conversations with professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment.
    • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of driving multiple projects across brands in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and HRIS systems (BambooHR preferred)
    • Bilingual proficiency in English and French is considered a strong asset.

    Pay range: $80,000 – $90,000 annually
