We currently have an opportunity for a Engineering Technician at our Manufacturing Facility in Tamaqua, PA.
Responsibilities
The Engineering Technician provides advanced technical support to manufacturing operations by installing, modifying, troubleshooting, and optimizing production, packaging, and material handling equipment. This role partners with Manufacturing Engineering and Operations to improve equipment reliability, production efficiency, process capability, and product quality. The position exercises considerable independent judgment in diagnosing complex equipment issues, supporting engineering trials, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives while serving as a technical resource across the facility.

Manufacturing Operations
- Perform electrical and mechanical modifications to production, packaging, and material handling equipment to improve operational performance and reliability.
- Assemble, install, test, and commission new manufacturing equipment to support production requirements and capital improvement initiatives.
- Support manufacturing operations by providing advanced technical troubleshooting and resolving complex equipment issues that minimize downtime.
- Monitor equipment performance, adjust calibrations, alignments, and operating parameters to optimize production efficiency and product quality.
Engineering Support
- Partner with Process Engineering to execute production trials, validate process improvements, and support new resin and manufacturing initiatives.
- Interpret engineering drawings, electrical schematics, and technical documentation to complete equipment modifications and diagnose system issues.
- Collect, analyze, and document equipment performance data to identify trends and support continuous improvement efforts.
Continuous Improvement
- Recommend improvements to production methods, equipment layouts, and material handling processes to enhance safety, quality, productivity, and operational effectiveness.
- Evaluate equipment capabilities and recommend production standard adjustments that maximize quality while operating within equipment limitations.
- Apply standardized repair practices while identifying and communicating equipment inconsistencies or recurring performance issues.
Quality & Collaboration
- Partner with Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, and leadership to establish and maintain equipment reliability and quality standards.
- Serve as a technical resource for complex manufacturing challenges requiring advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving expertise.

Qualifications
Education/Experience
Required
- High school diploma or GED.
- 5+ years of manufacturing experience.
Preferred
- Associate of Applied Science degree or trade school diploma in mechanical or electrical engineering.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Advanced electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, electrical schematics, and technical documentation.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple functions.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
