ROTATING SHIFT HOURS
(12 Hour Shift)
Responsibilities
The R2 - Extrusion provides front-line leadership for a manufacturing cell by driving safe, efficient, and high-quality production while supporting daily operational goals. This role coordinates work activities, develops team capability through coaching and training, resolves production issues, and promotes continuous improvement to maximize equipment performance and product quality. Working in partnership with operations leadership, the Response Lead influences team performance, reinforces operational standards, and enables consistent execution to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives with a high degree of accountability.

Leadership
- Lead daily production activities to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and productivity objectives.
- Coach, train, and develop production employees to improve technical capability, job proficiency, and overall team performance.
- Reinforce standard work practices and hold team members accountable for operational expectations.
- Mentor employees through structured on-the-job training and individual development plans.
Operations
- Coordinate workflow to maximize equipment uptime, minimize downtime, and reduce material waste.
- Troubleshoot production and equipment issues to restore safe and efficient operations.
- Respond to abnormal operating conditions and implement corrective actions to maintain production continuity.
- Monitor production performance and communicate operational priorities across the assigned area.
Safety & Quality
- Promote a culture of safety by ensuring compliance with established safety standards and procedures.
- Support achievement of zero-defect quality objectives by reinforcing product specifications and quality requirements.
- Conduct operational and behavioral audits to verify compliance with manufacturing standards.
- Assist with quality investigations and implementation of corrective actions as required.
Continuous Improvement
- Support continuous improvement initiatives that improve operational performance, equipment reliability, and employee capability.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and implement sustainable solutions that reduce waste and improve efficiency.
- Participate in leadership development activities that strengthen operational effectiveness.

Qualifications
Education/Experience
Required
- High school diploma or GED.
- 1 year of manufacturing or production experience.
Preferred
- Experience providing work direction, coaching, or informal leadership within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in consumer products manufacturing.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
- Ability to lead and motivate production teams.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and safe operating practices.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
