Rice Companies is looking for Experienced Carpenters to join the Service team at our Appleton, WI location. The commercial service team at Rice Companies keeps businesses running, doors closing, walls standing, and facilities managers calm. We handle repairs, troubleshooting, small projects, and the “can you get here today?” calls that magically appear at 4:45 PM.
If you’re the kind of carpenter who can walk into a grocery store, office, or warehouse and instantly spot the issue without needing a committee meeting, you’re our kind of person.
What You’ll Do
- Perform commercial carpentry service work in offices, retail spaces, industrial facilities, and other commercial environments
- Diagnose issues quickly (bonus points if you can do it while the customer explains the problem incorrectly)
- Complete repairs, installs, and small projects with craftsmanship and efficiency
- Communicate professionally with facility managers, tenants, and the occasional very stressed manager
- Work independently and with a team, safely, and with enough organization that your service van doesn’t look like a tool tornado hit it
What You Bring
- Solid commercial carpentry experience — framing, doors, hardware, trim, repairs, roofs, remodels, and general service work
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt when the “simple job” isn’t simple
- Comfort using hand tools, power tools, and navigating a variety of projects
- A valid driver’s license and reliable attendance
