Janitor

Working with Richardson opens the door to a world of possibility.  We currently have an opportunity for a Janitor at our Portage la Prairie, Manitoba location.  Reporting to the QA Supervisor, the Janitor position is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of common areas through the pro-active inspection and thorough cleaning of the facility.

Responsibilities:

• Cleaning and supply of the office, restrooms, break rooms, common areas, etc.
• Monitor and report plant conditions and issues
• Accurate completion of all documentation
• Operates in accordance with all food safety policies and procedures
• Operates in accordance with all health, safety and fire prevention regulations and practices

Qualifications:

• Grade 12 or equivalent
• Ability to work in a processing environment and adverse conditions (confined spaces, heights, hot environments)
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; planning and organizational skills
• Physically capable of lifting (up to 50 lbs)
• Ability to effectively wear respiratory protection
• Ability to work overtime including evenings and week-ends may be required
• Proficiency with computers
• Experience with floor buffing, waxing is an asset
