    Job description

    • Purpose of Job 

      This position is responsible for providing supervision of Rehab staff and the daily oversight of patient care ensuring the delivery of safe, effective and efficient therapy care in accordance with the Standards of Practice for Therapy and as defined by Ridgeview Medical Center.

      Job Functions 

      1. Provides direct supervision of rehab staff in Home Care. Supports the department manager through development of programs, goals and objectives consistent with those of the organization's overall strategic plan and initiatives.
      2. Supervises staff resources by overseeing the recruiting, selecting, hiring and orienting qualified individuals. Evaluates staff performance in an accurate, consistent, objective and timely manner. Assists in the development of core position hiring strategies and ensures opportunities for professional development. Contributes a cohesive Home Care area of the Home Health department committed to providing distributive, clinical and service quality to all customers.
      3. Carries out functions with an awareness of operating expenses and key indicators within the budget for Home Care in Home Health. Supports department manager in quality improvement efforts and service delivery that contributes to the overall success and financial viability of Home Health.
      4. Reviews and monitors applicable policies and procedures. As assigned, ensures compliance with local, state and federal regulatory agency standards.
      5. Proactively identifies and acts upon improvement projects and opportunities through observation, data analysis, engagement with partners, review of external impact factors and best practices, as well as ongoing communication with leadership and staff.
      6. Assists with scheduling and timecard approval.
      7. Assists with providing orientation for new employees.
      8. Performs clinical functions within the scope of the incumbents licensed rehabilitation discipline (Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Speech -Language Pathology)
      9. Other duties as assigned.

      Minimum Education/Work Experience 

      • Three years experience in home health

      Knowledge/Skills/Abilities 

      • Professional presence and effective interpersonal skills
      • Ability to meet and maintain the necessary background checks as aligned with position functions
      • Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned above
      • Demonstrated ability to supervise and coach a team
      • Excellent communication and influencing skills and ability to build strong working relationships at all levels
      • Ensures excellent service with a high degree of urgency to internal and external customers
      • Demonstrated computer aptitude to include ability to effectively utilize the Kronos system and Microsoft Suite
      • Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned above

      License/Certifications 

      • Valid Minnesota license in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Speech-Language Pathology
      • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
      • Valid MN driver's license and meets Ridgeview's insurability requirements
