Supply Chain Transportation Manager

Job Purpose

The Supply Chain Transportation Manager role is responsible for creating and reporting data analytics that supports the Supply Chain department. The Transportation Manager will have the autonomy to determine the direction of the Transportation category and gain experience in all major Supply Chain facets at Ring. This is a unique opportunity for a motivated individual to enhance their Supply Chain career by making a massive impact and immediately influencing Ring’s sourcing strategies.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Perform analysis and data reporting to support Supply Chain business needs.
• Conduct monthly freight financial analysis and report these results to Ring management.
• Develop monthly reporting of financial and operational KPI's for the transportation category.
• Develop a thorough understanding of the freight market.
• Create and implement short-term and long-term strategies for transportation sourcing.
• Work directly with Sales to execute customer freight revenue strategies.
• Manage all aspects of customer and vendor freight (carrier rate procurement, customer freight pricing, financial reporting, and budgeting).
• Support Ring operations by working with plant personnel to solve problems and ensure on-time in full (OTIF) performance of Ring carriers.
• Identify and implement cost reduction strategies for the category.
• Manage Ring’s TMS (Transportation Management System).
• Process all invoices, credits and payment inquiries.
• Manage freight forwarders for both import and export shipments
• Arrange miscellaneous shipments as needed (Parcel, bulk trucks, LTL, and international).  These include Ring plant breakdowns and maintenance and repairs requirements.

Experience and Educational Qualifications

• BA/BS in Supply Chain, Business Analytics, Logistics, or relevant; MBA is a plus.
• Strong analytical and data mining skills.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, Pivot Tables, etc. (Advanced DataBase Skills is a plus- Power BI, SQL, Access).
• Ability to evaluate data validity and relevance.
• Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of people and personalities.
• Must be able to work under the stress of deadlines.
