Join our team as a Data Center Technician in Sterling, United States. This is an onsite, contract/freelance, dispatch-based position where you'll support critical infrastructure at data center facilities in and around the Reston area.
Hourly contract/freelance position
Paid for actual hours worked on each assignment
Assignments may range from a few hours to longer shifts depending on client requirements
No guaranteed 8-hour workday or fixed number of hours per week
Hourly rate will be discussed based on experience and assignment requirements
On-demand / dispatch-based
Assignment schedules vary based on client requirements
Some assignments may require short-notice availability
Nights and weekends may be required depending on the assignment
Technicians should be comfortable working independently with minimal supervision onsite

Install, configure, and maintain server and network equipment
Perform structured cabling, including copper and fiber optic
Execute hardware deployments, replacements, and decommissions
Perform onsite troubleshooting and hardware break/fix
Rack, stack, de-rack, and relocate equipment as required
Perform power cycling and basic equipment checks
Follow MOPs, SOPs, safety procedures, and client requirements
Maintain accurate documentation, tickets, photos, and asset records
Coordinate with remote engineering, NOC, operations, and client teams
Support planned maintenance, upgrades, and infrastructure changes
Work independently onsite and escalate issues when required
Data center or IT infrastructure experience
Server hardware and networking knowledge
Reliable and professional with strong communication
Proximity to local data center facilities
Flexible schedule for on-call/emergency work
