The Senior Accountant is responsible for general ledger, international accounting, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and audit support. This role leads daily accounting activities for international marketing offices and serves as a key Finance contact for international offices, external CPA firms, Human Resources, and internal business partners. The Senior Accountant also supports month-end closing, sales reporting, financial analysis, and other corporate accounting activities.
Responsibilities
International Accounting
- Coordinate international payroll, expense reimbursements, vendor payments, and related accounting activities with in-country accounting firms.
- Serve as a key Finance contact for international marketing offices, external CPA firms, Human Resources, and other business partners.
- Review and audit online banking activities for international marketing offices.
- Prepare journal entries and perform accounting and bookkeeping activities for assigned international locations using QuickBooks Online.
- Support internal and external audits for international marketing offices.
- Review international account activity, research discrepancies, and coordinate necessary corrections.
General Ledger and Financial Reporting
- Prepare journal entries, bank reconciliations, and assigned balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Support month-end and year-end close activities.
- Review financial data for accuracy and coordinate necessary corrections.
- Provide financial information and supporting documentation for internal and external audits.
- Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and financial reporting issues.
Procedures and Controls
- Maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for assigned accounting responsibilities.
- Ensure accounting activities are performed in accordance with established internal controls and procedures.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting accuracy, and efficiency.
- Provide accounting guidance and support to Finance team members as needed.
- Assist the Finance Team with ad hoc projects, reporting, and financial analysis.
- Perform other accounting duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field with an Accounting or Finance concentration.
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, journal entries, account reconciliations; Fixed Asset experience preferred, month-end close, and financial reporting.
- Demonstrated knowledge of internal controls and auditing concepts.
- International accounting, external CPA firm, and banking experience preferred.
- Advanced Excel skills and QuickBooks Online experience required.
- Proficient Kinetic ERP experience preferred, for example Epicor.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
