Peninsula Catholic High School is seeking qualified and dependable Long-Term Substitute Teachers to provide classroom instruction and continuity during extended teacher absences.
The ideal candidate will be a caring, enthusiastic educator who can create a positive and structured learning environment while supporting the academic, personal, and spiritual development of our students.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Provide consistent classroom instruction for the duration of the assigned teacher's absence.
- Implement established curriculum and lesson plans and, when necessary, assist with planning lessons and instructional activities.
- Create a positive and engaging classroom environment that encourages student participation, responsibility, and academic success.
- Assess student learning, grade assignments, and maintain accurate academic records as appropriate.
- Provide students with timely and constructive feedback.
- Maintain effective classroom management while fostering respect, responsibility, and Christian values.
- Communicate effectively with school administration, faculty, staff, students, and families.
- Follow school policies, procedures, schedules, and established classroom expectations.
- Participate in faculty meetings, school activities, and other responsibilities as needed during the assignment.
- Work collaboratively with department faculty and administration to ensure continuity of instruction throughout the teacher's absence.
Qualifications
Qualified candidates should:
- Have a bachelor's degree; teaching experience is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrate strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Be dependable, organized, flexible, and comfortable working independently.
- Be able to establish positive and professional relationships with high school students, families, faculty, and staff.
