Minister to Volunteers

St. Thomas Aquinas University Parish is seeking to hire a Minister to Volunteers who will work closely with the Pastor to facilitate all parish liturgies and coordinate the volunteer groups in their service of parish worship and environment. This encompasses weekend and weekday liturgies, as well as Solemnities and Sacramental celebrations. The Minister to Volunteers will recruit, train, and schedule Liturgical Ministers for all Masses (including Readers, Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, Servers, Ushers, Sacristans, and Adorers). This position coordinates the Altar Society, schedules, oversees, and supports the Ministers to the Sick (Visitation Guild, Hospital Ministers), the Funeral Ministry (Sacristans, Bethany Guild), and those who serve the environment (Linen Guild, Parish Center Plant Crew, Floral Guild). This role will also maintain the sacred vessels and monitor levels of sacramental supplies. This is a Part-Time hourly position at 20 hours/week, with availability for weekend Mass support.

Qualifications:

1. High school diploma required; college degree preferred
2. High degrees of professionalism and confidentiality
3. Experience with volunteer management
4. Must be highly organized, efficient, and able to project a friendly, courteous, caring
   demeanor to office visitors and parish volunteers
5. Familiarity with computer software applications as required by this job

Working Conditions:

• 20 hours/week, flexible timing
• Some hours should overlap with typical parish office hours (between 9:00AM - 4:00PM), while other hours should overlap with weekend Mass times as needed (4:30PM vigil, 7:00AM, 9:00AM, 11:30AM, 5:15PM).
• Usual work location: St. Thomas Aquinas University Parish (401 Alderman Road, Charlottesville, VA 22903), inside the parish office, accessing the church, the sacristy, the vestry, and the parish center.
• Receives supervision from the pastor; works alongside the Director of Worship/Music, the Supervisor of Internal Operations, and Friars who assist with liturgical training; does not directly supervise other employees.
