St. Elizabeth Catholic Church is seeking to fill the Office Manager position for their Parish Office. This position reports to the Pastor. Required hours are 1pm to 4pm on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday but additional hours, not exceeding 19 hours a week, can be worked. On average, 12-16 hours of work per week.
- Serve as secretary to the Pastor as needed
- Answer phones and directs calls appropriately and answers emails promptly and professionally
- Interact with and provides excellent customer service to staff, parishioners, and guests respectfully and professionally.
- Maintain the parish calendar and schedules activities; coordinate availability of Parish Hall.
- Monitor and purchase supplies and equipment for the office as authorized by the Pastor. Coordinate with the Pastor and Liturgical Coordinator to order supplies for liturgical seasons.
- Maintains parishioner records and mailing lists via the parish database, Constant Contact, and Offering Envelope database - This includes completing the yearly census.
- Coordinate, write, and publish weekly Sunday bulletin, Prayers of the Faithful, and Mass Announcements
- Serve as ‘Virtus Administrator;’ regularly maintain the database in accordance with Diocesan policies and procedures, audit reports for facilitators to ensure VIRTUS compliance.
- Serves as ‘Background Screening Coordinator,’ to include tracking and initiating all required background screenings for volunteers per Diocesan policies and procedures.
- Assist Payroll Manager with completing human resources tasks as requested, in consultation with the Pastor and Office of Human Resources
- Coordinate with ministry leaders, fundraising leaders, and volunteers for Parish events as needed.
- Prepare correspondence to parishioners and others as requested by the Pastor
- Attend, participate in, and support meetings as requested; Diocesan meetings may occur offsite
The ideal candidate is a Catholic in good standing who has availability in the midafternoon. This position requires professionalism in communication, organization, time management, and general office operations.
Candidates should be familiar or comfortable working with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook), printer operations (printing, scanning, photocopying), and Diocesan VIRTUS policy.
