Substitute

Roanoke Catholic School is in need of substitute teachers to cover teacher absences in the classroom for the 26-27 school year.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

· Follow plans made by the teacher or administrators.

· Leave notes for regular teacher regarding what was covered, student behavior, any illnesses or injuries and any other concerns.

· Promote order and self-discipline in the classroom, at recess, at lunchtime, at arrival and at dismissal time, upholding school regulations.

· Follow approved procedures regarding the health and safety of the students.

· Become familiar with emergency drill procedures and locations of exits.

· Maintain order and silence during fire drills and other emergency drills and follow all protocols.

Help maintain a safe environment by helping to keep exterior doors closed and secured, never leaving children unattended, reporting visitors with no visitor badge, and instructing students about being where they are supposed to be and not letting anyone into the building.

· Keep all information confidential and do not compare schools, classrooms, teachers or students or comment on the regular teacher’s lessons or students’ progress.

Maintain high professional and ethical standards at all times and be friendly but firm and objective when dealing with students and parents.
