Position: Inventory Control Coordinator/Specialist

General Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Inventory Control Specialist to support our growing Supply Chain team. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory, coordinating receiving activities, managing documentation, supporting reporting and month-end activities, and helping improve inventory and warehouse processes. You will collaborate cross-functionally with teams including Customer Service, Logistics, Inventory Management, Supply Planning, Quality Assurance, R&D, and Sourcing.
Essential Duties
Inventory Control & Operations
- Perform cycle counts and physical inventory audits to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Investigate and reconcile inventory variances and identify root causes.
- Maintain accurate inventory information in ERP/WMS systems.
- Monitor inbound and outbound inventory movements and ensure proper documentation.
- Review and process receiving documents and support invoice approval activities.
- Support aging reports, inventory shortage analysis, and other inventory reporting.
- Maintain PODs, BOLs, packing slips, and supporting documentation for accounting, claims, and deduction resolution.
- Partner with production for planning.
- Assist with procurement duties and projects as needed.
Receiving & Warehouse Coordination
- Support receiving activities across two plants and local cold-storage facilities.
- Ensure products are properly labeled, stored, organized, and documented.
- Work with warehouse personnel to maintain efficient storage practices and inventory flow.
Data & Reporting
- Perform accurate data entry and maintain inventory records.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports.
- Analyze inventory trends, usage, discrepancies, and shrinkage.
- Monitor overstocked, slow-moving, aging, and at-risk-of-expiration inventory.
- Support month-end inventory activities and reporting.
Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve inventory and warehouse processes.
- Support the development and implementation of SOPs.
- Help improve inventory accuracy, material flow, and operational efficiency.
- Participate in strategic Supply Chain projects and initiatives.
Minimum Qualification and Requirements
- 1–3 years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, supply chain, logistics, or a related field.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Experience with inventory software, ERP/WMS systems, spreadsheets, and data entry.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, Teams, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment
- Ability to effectively prioritize work and complete urgent tasks in a timely manner
- Curiosity to understand how data impacts the customer experience and business operations
- Must have a valid Californian Driver’s License with a clear driving record.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
- Ability to lift up to 40–50 lbs. as needed.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout warehouse and production areas for extended periods.
- Ability to work in warehouses, production, and cold-storage environments.
- Ability to work in a hot, cold, wet, and/or loud environment.
- Ability to safely perform required duties in an operational environment.
Schedule
Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm
Onsite in San Leandro; Occasional travel to Oakland Facility.
