We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team in Manchester, United Kingdom. In this role, you will play a key part in designing, developing, and optimising mechanical systems and components. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions that meet customer requirements and drive continuous improvement across our product range.
- Design and develop mechanical components and systems using 3D CAD tools, ensuring precision and adherence to technical specifications
- Create comprehensive technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, and assembly instructions
- Conduct mechanical analysis and simulations to validate designs and optimise performance
- Manage and maintain Bill of Materials (BOM) structures, ensuring accuracy and traceability throughout the product lifecycle
- Collaborate with colleagues across engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to support product development and improvement initiatives
- Analyse customer requirements and translate them into practical engineering solutions
- Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback to enhance product quality and manufacturability
- Support the preparation of technical proposals and documentation for customer presentations
- Ensure compliance with relevant engineering standards, regulations, and best practices Contribute to problem-solving activities and identify opportunities for innovation and efficiency improvements
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, or equivalent professional experience
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software (such as CATIA, SolidWorks, or similar tools)
- Demonstrated experience in creating and managing BOM structures
- Strong technical documentation and drawing skills
- Solid understanding of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Strong people skills and ability to work effectively within collaborative teams
- Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience with mechanical simulation and finite element analysis (FEA) software Knowledge of relevant engineering standards and industry regulations
- Project management experience or exposure
- Experience in the pneumatic, hydraulic, or actuator industries
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies Professional engineering qualification or chartership (CEng, IEng)
