Royal Canin’s successful innovation pipeline delivery relies on the execution and adherence of R&D associates to clear processes and governance, taking into account multiple internal stakeholders at Royal Canin and aligning with the larger Mars Corporate R&D systems.

The TRL Portfolio Management Officer enables effective governance, process excellence and research portfolio visibility across the Royal Canin R&D Innovation pipeline. The role combines TRL portfolio governance, TRL process ownership and PPM system stewardship to ensure reliable portfolio data, robust decision-making and compliance with Quality Management System (QMS) requirements.

• Good analytical skills

• Experience in portfolio management, project governance or PMO activities

• Experience with portfolio management systems, reporting tools and data management.

• Experience in managing complex flows of information

• Ability to manage and improve governance frameworks, processes and ways of working

• Power BI knowledge and reporting development capabilities are highly desirable.

What could be your key responsibilities ?

- TRL Portfolio Management & Governance

• Organize, prepare and facilitate the TRL Gate Review governance process.
• Review project readiness and support project teams in preparing decision-focused governance discussions.
• Provide recommendations on governance decisions and ensure key risks, opportunities and required decisions are appropriately highlighted.
• Track governance outcomes, actions and commitments, ensuring timely follow-up and closure.
• Consolidate portfolio data and reporting to support portfolio visibility and leadership decision-making.
• Support the evolution of portfolio reporting capabilities, including resource and capacity visibility.

- TRL Process Ownership & QMS Compliance

• Own and maintain the Royal Canin TRL framework in alignment with the Mars Global TRL standard and QMS requirements.
• Act as guardian of the TRL process in alignment with the TRL Business owner (Research Director), ensuring consistent application across projects and teams.
• Drive process excellence through continuous improvement, simplification and clarification of ways of working.
• Maintain process documentation, guidance and training materials.
• Clarify roles, responsibilities and governance expectations across stakeholders.
• Provide coaching and support on TRL process application.
• Lead internal and external audit preparation, execution and follow-up, ensuring audit readiness and effective closure of findings.
• Represent Royal Canin in relevant TRL process, governance and QMS communities.

- PPM System Management & Portfolio Data Quality

• Act as Royal Canin Key User for the Project & Portfolio Management (PPM) system.
• Ensure portfolio data accuracy, completeness and compliance, enabling reliable portfolio visibility and decision-making.
• Maintain portfolio structures, data standards and governance rules within the PPM environment.
• Manage user access, roles, permissions, training and user support.
• Coordinate testing, validation and deployment of system enhancements in collaboration with Corporate PPM teams and system providers.
• Support adoption of new system capabilities and contribute to the continuous improvement of reporting and dashboard solutions, including Power BI.
• Represent Royal Canin within PPM and portfolio management communities of practice and contribute to system and reporting improvement initiatives.
