RVA is looking for a Junior Accountant to join the Finance team in their Toronto office. 

In this role, you’ll work closely with the finance team to support day-to-day accounting operations, month-end close, and project-related financial administration in a multi-disciplinary engineering consulting environment. You’ll gain exposure to project accounting, billing, and financial reporting while contributing to a collaborative, employee-owned culture.

Duties:

• Process and code accounts payable invoices and employee expense claims; support accounts receivable activities including cash application and client invoicing.
• Perform bank reconciliations and routine general ledger account reconciliations; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist with journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and other month-end and year-end close tasks under supervision.
• Support project accounting activities, including tracking project costs, reviewing time and expenses, and assisting with billing preparations.
• Maintain the general ledger and supporting schedules; ensure accurate and timely recording of transactions in line with internal controls.
• Prepare basic financial reports and schedules as requested; support audit and review requests by gathering documentation.
• Contribute to process improvements and ad-hoc projects that enhance efficiency and data quality within the finance function.

Qualifications:

• Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (college diploma or bachelor’s degree) or equivalent experience.
• 0–3 + years of accounting experience (co-op, internship, or entry-level roles counted).
• Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and double-entry bookkeeping.
• Strong Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, data organization); familiarity with Deltek Vantagepoint software is an asset.
• High attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines, and comfortable managing multiple tasks in a project-based environment.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills; able to work collaboratively across teams and follow established procedures.
• Interest in pursuing a CPA designation is an asset.

Compensation Range:

The salary range for this position is $58,000 - $65,000/annum.

Compensation for this role will be determined based on a variety of factors, including relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business needs.
