The In-House Forklift Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing forklifts and other material handling equipment to ensure safe and efficient warehouse operations. This role supports preventative maintenance programs, troubleshoots mechanical issues, and minimizes equipment downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on forklifts ( propane and diesel).
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
- Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance and safety inspections.
- Repair or replace defective parts such as motors, brakes, steering systems, and lifting mechanisms.
- Maintain accurate service and repair records.
- Ensure all equipment complies with OSHA and company safety standards.
- Respond promptly to breakdowns to minimize operational disruptions.
- Manage spare parts inventory and coordinate ordering when needed.
- Test equipment after repairs to ensure proper functionality.
