    Job description

    Position Summary:

    Performs analysis of the financial condition of individuals and businesses for the Bank’s prospective and existing commercial lending relationships. Analysis includes completion of financial statement spreads, business and personal cash flow analysis, collateral adequacy, guarantor assessment, rental real estate and business cash flow, review of credit reports, and applying appropriate risk ratings.

    Essential Functions:

    1. Underwrite and prepare formal analyses for commercial loan requests, renewals, amendments, and extensions being presented to the Bank’s Loan Committee.
    2. Organize and prepare spreadsheets, analytical information, and provide narrative summaries of the credit worthiness of borrowers/guarantors.
    3. Identify credit risks and provide mitigating factors available to minimize that risk to the Bank.
    4. Perform credit inquiries, including credit reports and trade inquiries; analyze and summarize findings.
    5. Assess compliance with regulatory guidelines and identifies exceptions to loan policy.
    6. Assist in risk management of business loan portfolio by performing annual renewal and review analysis on existing loans and other analysis as required.
    7. Provide technical support and assistance to Commercial Loan Officers as needed.
    8. Provide support to the loan review department as needed.
    9. Provides professional, courteous and efficient service to all internal and external customers.
    10. Complies with federal and state banking regulations, as well as with all bank and department policies and procedures.
    11. Performs other miscellaneous duties or special tasks as required or assigned.
    12. Attends all required meetings and training.

    Position Qualifications and Education Requirements:

    • Four-year degree with emphasis in accounting, finance or business administration preferred.
    • Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in commercial credit analysis, business/personal tax return analysis, and financial statement analysis software.
    • Basic understanding of the lending process and familiarity with loan products.
    • Good written and verbal communication skills.
    • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Develop the ability to deliver quality work during times of increased volume.
    • Develop the ability to work independently in organizing and prioritizing workload.
    • Commitment to ongoing learning.
    • Ability to work harmoniously, professionally, cordially and effectively with others, focusing upon the attainment of Bank goals and objectives through a commitment to teamwork.
    • Maintains a good knowledge of and ensures compliance with, Federal and State Banking Regulations and follows Bank Policies and Procedures.
    • Ability to read/see documents and computer screens, to communicate in person and via the telephone and use a computer and other office equipment.
    • Is dependable and conforms to punctuality and attendance standards.
    • Serves on various committees as assigned.
    • Able to travel to all bank locations.

    Working Conditions:

    • Physical surroundings are generally pleasant and comfortable with protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
    • Normally seated with freedom of movement on a regular basis.
    • Extensive operation of computers and other office equipment requiring dexterity and coordination and frequent use of hands.
