Position Overview: Samuel Engineering Inc. is seeking enthusiastic and driven CAD Drafting Interns to join our team. This intern-to-hire program offers hands-on experience supporting real engineering projects while building practical drafting skills in a professional environment. Interns who excel during the program will be considered for full-time employment upon completion of the summer session or upon graduation.

The internship will run from June through July, with opportunities to transition into a full-time role afterward.

Interns will have exposure and opportunities to grow within the following disciplines:
• Piping & Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID) Design
• Civil Design
• Structural Design
• Electrical Design
• Instrumentation & Controls Design

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in creating detailed technical drawings and plans using CAD software.
• Work closely with senior drafters and engineers to understand project requirements and specifications.
• Revise and update existing drawings to reflect changes and corrections.
• Organize and maintain CAD files and documentation.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to project discussions.
• Perform basic calculations and analysis to support design decisions.
• Adhere to company standards and protocols for drafting and design.
• Assist in other tasks related to engineering projects as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS PER JOB LEVEL 

• Recently graduated or expected to graduate by December 2026 from technical school or completion of CAD course.
• Basic understanding of AutoCAD.
• Strong interest in engineering or related fields.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
