Project Finance Analyst

About the role

Due to an internal promotion, Renewal SA is seeking an experienced Project Finance Analyst.
As a member of the Finance Business Partnering team, the Project Finance Analyst will support the day-to-day project financial management and accounting of assigned projects and activities across Renewal SA.
Reporting to the Senior Finance Business Partner and working closely with the Project Accountant, the role will provide high-quality financial and accounting support across multiple projects, including the preparation and maintenance of operating and capital budgets and forecasts. The Project Finance Analyst will also undertake financial analysis and performance reporting, providing accurate and timely insights to support effective financial management and decision-making across Renewal SA.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and maintaining project capital budgets and whole-of-life financial models to ensure they remain current, accurate and appropriately forecasted.
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date project financial information, including reconciliation of costs for recovery purposes and expense tracking.
• Assisting with month-end processes, including preparing accruals and journal entries.
• Contributing to the provision of relevant and accurate business insights and analysis that explain financial results, performance against targets and trends.

Who we are looking for

You are a detail-oriented and analytical finance professional who enjoys working with data to support informed decision-making. You thrive in a collaborative environment, balancing multiple priorities while ensuring accuracy and integrity in financial and project reporting.

You will bring:

• Experience or exposure to project financial management, management accounting and data analysis.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Sound analytical skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and identify trends.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to work effectively across teams.
• Proficiency in financial systems and Microsoft Excel for reporting and analysis.
• A tertiary qualification in finance, accounting, economics or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
