About the role
Reporting to the Technical Solutions and Engineering Manager, you'll turn complex lifting and transport challenges into safe, practical, and buildable plans. You'll work closely with our operations crews, project teams, and clients, and you'll see your engineering carried out on site.
What you'll do
- Prepare lift and rigging engineering, including lift plans, rigging designs, and crane selection
- Engineer transport routes for oversize and heavy loads
- Carry out structural design and checks for heavy lift works, including lifting beams, frames, and temporary works
- Assess ground conditions and bearing capacity for crane and transport setups
- Design custom solutions where standard equipment won't do the job
- Produce calculations, drawings, and method statements that crews can follow on site
- Support tenders and project planning with technical input
- Visit sites to review conditions and support critical lifts
What you'll bring
- A degree in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering
- 3+ years' experience in heavy lift, cranage, rigging, transport, or temporary works engineering
- Working knowledge of relevant Australian Standards, such as AS 2550 and AS 4100
- Experience with lift planning, CAD, and structural analysis software
- A practical mindset: you want your designs to work on the ground, not just on paper
- Clear communication with crews, supervisors, and clients alike
- A strong commitment to safety
- Full Australian working rights and a current driver's licence
Desirable
- Chartered status (CPEng) or working towards it
- Experience in wind, mining, or energy projects
