Production Planner (3PL Operations)

This role is open to candidates based in LATAM, Africa, and Eastern Europe. Please note that as this role supports U.S.-based clients, candidates must be available to work during U.S. business hours aligned with the client’s time zone.
Our client is a leading provider of third-party logistics (3PL) solutions, helping businesses streamline warehouse operations, fulfillment, and value-added services. As their operations continue to grow, they are seeking a Production Planner to coordinate customer demand with warehouse production activities while ensuring efficient planning, scheduling, and operational execution across multiple client accounts.
ROLE OVERVIEW
The Production Planner will be responsible for translating customer demand into actionable production schedules that align with warehouse capacity and operational priorities.

The Production Planner will coordinate forecasts, manage work orders, communicate with customers and internal teams, monitor production progress, and support continuous process improvements through data analysis and AI-enabled workflows. This role is ideal for someone with experience in production planning, logistics, or supply chain operations who enjoys coordinating cross-functional teams and optimizing warehouse performance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
PRODUCTION PLANNING & SCHEDULING
- Communicate directly with customers to gather inbound and outbound forecasts.
- Consolidate customer requirements into standardized production plans.
- Translate customer demand into daily and weekly production schedules.
- Create and maintain production schedules based on customer priorities and warehouse capacity.
- Coordinate kitting, packaging, assembly, and other value-added service activities.
WORK ORDER & OPERATIONS COORDINATION
- Open and close work orders throughout the production lifecycle.
- Monitor production progress and ensure all required components are available before production begins.
- Coordinate with Operations teams to communicate changing customer priorities.
- Ensure warehouse activities remain aligned with production schedules and customer expectations.
CUSTOMER COMMUNICATION
- Follow up with customers regarding production requirements, forecasts, and project updates.
- Build strong customer relationships through proactive, professional communication.
- Provide timely updates regarding production timelines and operational changes.
REPORTING & CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT
- Track production KPIs and operational performance.
- Leverage AI tools to improve forecasting, reporting, documentation, and operational efficiency.
- Identify opportunities to standardize processes and improve planning accuracy.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across warehouse operations.
QUALIFICATIONS
EXPERIENCE
- 3+ years of experience in production planning, supply chain, logistics, inventory planning, or operations coordination.
- Previous experience within a 3PL, distribution, warehouse, or manufacturing environment.
- Experience creating and managing production schedules.
- Experience using ERP systems, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), or production planning software.
- Experience supporting B2B and Direct-to-Consumer operations is preferred.
- Experience with demand forecasting, inventory planning, and work order management is preferred.
SKILLS
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong understanding of production planning and warehouse operations.
- Experience with ERP systems and Warehouse Management Systems.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Experience using AI tools for forecasting, reporting, documentation, or process improvement is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving and process improvement mindset.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across Operations, Warehouse, and Customer-facing teams.
