Why this role matters:
This role is important to lead the daily management and performance of our renewable energy portfolio in Romania. You will have end-to-end responsibility for Project Company (SPV) management, from financial close through construction and operations, ensuring strong commercial performance, contractual compliance, risk management and stakeholder engagement.
What you’ll be doing:
- Support projects during the development stage to financial close to ensure the projects’ premises related to Asset Management are in compliance with necessary budget and internal policies.
- Manage the Project Companies and the obligations and communication with the Board of Directors and all third parties, in accordance with the terms of the Management Service Agreement (i.e. be the primary contact for stakeholder management of Project Companies), which includes the scopes of Financing Agreements, energy sales, regulatory, environmental, O&M, administration, corporate reporting and all other contractual obligations of the Projects.
Project Company Management
- Ultimate responsibility and accountability for SPV management from Financial close to end of project life.
- Responsible for driving profits – refinancing / plant performance improvements.
- Identify, develop and implement financial, process, EPC and O&M improvements
- Monitoring project level profit & loss (P&L) activities to ensure that the power plants are delivering expected financial returns, analysis of P&L variance, CF Forecast and solar plants budget review
- Assist in monitoring electricity production, downtime and performance and prepare production root cause analysis.
- Take full ownership in analyzing the variation proposals received from the O&M or EPC Contractors, review and prepare cost estimates related to corrective maintenance, spare parts and warranties.
- Support and cooperate with the Finance team in monitoring the project level profit & loss (P&L) to ensure that the power plants are delivering expected financial returns, analysis of P&L variance, CF Forecast and solar plants budget review.
- Contract Management – manage and administer all contracts between the project companies and third parties (EPC, O&M, Management Service Agreement (MSA), Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), Lenders, etc.).
- Maintain and initiate renew process for Company’s permits and licenses.
- Manage the Health and Safety (HSSE) obligations under the Management Service Agreement.
- Visit the project sites and the local communities as and when necessary.
- Preparation of information for quarterly Board meetings.
- Liaise with relevant stakeholders (amongst others, technical, legal and regulatory, financial, accounting and tax, environmental and social, insurance advisors, etc.).
- Landlord interface.
What you’ll bring:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Engineering or Law. MBA or Master’s Degree in above mentioned fields is an advantage.
- Minimum of 7-10 years relevant work experience in similar position, preferably from an international environment
- Skilled in financial modelling and valuation, experience with cash budgeting, cash management
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to effectively prioritize tasks and manage multiple workstreams simultaneously
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships with different stakeholders. Renewable energy experience, ideally from project development, engineering companies, environmental consulting firms, renewable Independent Power Producers (IPPs) or from other infrastructure companies
- Working knowledge and understanding of power purchase agreements, interconnection agreements, and EPC contract terms and conditions.
