    Senior Dentist

    Hiring Range- $182,748.26 to $255,847.56

    Summary of Job Responsibilities:

    The Southcentral Foundation (SCF) Senior Dentist is responsible for a broad range of duties in partnering with customer-owners in the treatment of dental diseases and establishment of oral health. In addition to direct clinical care, the Senior Dentist is responsible for mentoring and coaching staff assigned to them on the Nuka System of Care.

    Qualifications 

    SCF programs are established to serve a primary population comprised of Alaska Native people who are affiliated with Cook Inlet Region, Inc. (CIRI) and Alaska Native and American Indian people within SCF’s geographical service area. Employees should have a thorough understanding of the cultures and the needs of this population. Such knowledge is critical to ensure the achievement of SCF’s vision of a Native Community that enjoys physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellness, and mission of working together with the Native Community to achieve wellness through health and related services:

    1. Current professional license in the State of Alaska as appropriate.
    2. One of the following degrees is required: M.D., D.O., DMD, DDS, PT, MPT, DPT, PhD, NP, DC, OD, PA-C, Doctoral degree in Pharmacy, experience and acceptance as a Native healer in providing traditional practices for Tribal Doctor.
    3. Three (3) years of clinical experience providing care in the scope of practice based on their license OR demonstrated proficiency in a similar position at SCF.
    4. Meets all requirements to obtain associate medical staff membership and required privileges of service.
    5. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. ACLS, NRP, ATLS, ALSO and PALS as required for specialty and any certification relating to the scope of practice as required.

    To protect the health of customer-owners and employees, Southcentral Foundation (SCF) requires health screenings and immunizations for all new and current employees. SCF's philosophy of care is built on creating and maintaining trusting relationships with customer-owners, and a healthy workforce is an important part of that commitment.

    Following SCF's Employee Health Procedure, including all required job-related health screenings and immunizations, is a condition of employment. The procedure is based on the latest scientific evidence and recommendations from public health experts.

    New employees must complete all required health screenings and immunizations before their first day of work. Current employees must complete any additional screenings or immunizations that become necessary due to workplace conditions, public health concerns, or newly available vaccines that help protect coworkers and the community.
