This role is key to supporting the delivery of Underwriting & Claims service, being responsible for processing work coming into the teams, updating databases and workflows whilst supporting the team with a variety of administrative tasks.
The underwriting & claims systems are going through transformation; the role holder would be involved in supporting increased automation as well as supporting with development of MI and report analysis.
Alongside administrative responsibilities this individual will train to develop their underwriting knowledge, with a structured plan in place to learn the skills involved in reinsurance underwriting such as medical knowledge, risk assessment and the interpretation of philosophy and treaties. The individual would be assessing cases with the support of experienced underwriters to work towards obtaining their own underwriting authorities.
As part of a small team this individual will get involved in a variety of work which all ultimately aims to help clients get the right underwriting and claims decision at the earliest opportunity. For example, following up on pending claims, reviewing MI, supporting the team with organising training, events or meetings.
This role provides opportunity to gain knowledge of reinsurance, working closely with other departments to build a strong foundation for a career in underwriting.
