Compliance and Commercial Analyst

About the role

Reporting to the Director, Global Commercial Operations, the Compliance & Commercial Analyst is a key member of Seequent’s Operations team. This role brings together compliance oversight and commercial analysis, helping ensure our quote-to-cash controls, sanctions and export control processes are robust while providing the insights that support budgeting, forecasting and sound business decisions.

You will work across teams to analyse data, strengthen controls, support pricing and commercial initiatives, and build understanding of compliance processes and systems throughout the business.

In this role you will have the opportunity to:

• Complete SOX quote-to-cash analysis, reconciliations and reporting, ensuring alignment between licences sold, fulfilled and invoiced.
• Support the Seequent Pricing Committee through analysis, decision records and verification of pricing configurations in Salesforce.
• Monitor controls, identify weaknesses and recommend improvements across quote-to-cash and relevant IT general control environments.
• Manage transaction and customer reviews for sanctions and export control risks, coordinating with Bentley Systems on group requirements.
• Develop and deliver practical education and resources covering SOX, sanctions, export control and OFAC policies and procedures.
• Analyse financial and operational data to support trends, forecasts, budgets, pricing reviews, strategic projects and major renewal cases.

To be successful in this role you should have:

• A tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce or a related field.
• At least four years’ experience in related roles, with demonstrated compliance and commercial analytical experience.
• Strong strategic and critical thinking skills, including experience analysing financial targets and trends, supporting budgets and monitoring compliance.
• Exceptional quantitative capability, advanced Excel proficiency and a methodical approach with strong attention to detail.
• The ability to work effectively through ambiguity in a fast-paced, complex environment while following processes and procedures diligently.
• Confident written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels and prepare clear reports and presentations.
• Knowledge of software sales processes and CRM, licensing and financial systems would be advantageous.

Location and additional information

This is an office-based role located in our Christchurch office. On occasion, you may need to work outside standard office hours to connect with colleagues in different time zones.
