Technical Solutions Specialist

The Position  

As a Technical Solutions Specialist your primary focus will be on the technical demonstration, implementation, and support of Seequent’s key data solutions while retaining a commercial perspective throughout the customer lifecycle with a primary focus on OpenGround.

This role is all about getting up close and personal with users throughout their lifecycle from customers at the pre-purchase stage through to experienced users requiring help and/or project assistance. We want to ensure our customers feel important and are well supported. Being hands-on, task orientated, and customer focused, this role is responsible for providing well rounded technical and commercial sales support, implementation services and technical support, along with great product knowledge, quick response times, analysis, problem solving, and solution finding.

It will also be required for the role to assist our product and engineering teams as required.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:  

Pre-Sales Technical Support 

• Demonstrate solutions by matching customers' needs with appropriate products and services.
• Conduct product demos and webinars while providing technical information prior to sale.
• Guide product trials to ensure customers understand how to solve their specific challenges.

Marketing and Business Goals 

• Track customer needs and competitor movements, reporting key updates to sales and product teams.
• Monitor customer satisfaction levels and actively work to improve service outcomes.
• Facilitate and support product upgrades, new feature releases, and launch strategies.

Product, Domain, and Market Knowledge 

• Maintain expert product capability backed by a strong understanding of the Ground Investigation industry.
• Test and assess emerging features with the confidence to challenge product limitations.
• Capture customer feedback on product usage to share with internal business teams.

Technical Support and Expert Services 

• Deliver implementation and coaching to help customers adopt and integrate software solutions.
• Resolve complex, repeating issues and advocate for users by reporting patterns to developers.
• Bridge user communities and developers to define problems, scope solutions, and map requirements.

To be successful in this role, you should have:  
Technical Qualifications & Experience 

• Geoscience Degree: Bachelor’s or graduate degree in a relevant geoscience discipline (or equivalent industry experience).
• Industry Domain Expertise: 5+ years of experience in geotechnical engineering, mining, or civil infrastructure, with a deep understanding of the geotechnical data value chain.
• Data Systems Mastery: Proven experience configuring complex data management systems.
• Consulting Background: Technical consultancy experience is highly desirable.
• Travel Flexibility: Ability to travel 10–20% of the time, both domestically and internationally.
