    Friday - Monday

    Full Time Hours

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    · Assist with group activities throughout the day.

    · Make daily announcements to keep residents abreast of planned activities and schedule changes as requested by or in the absence of the Director of Life Enrichment; May also make announcements before each activity begins.

    · Actively promote resident participation in activities.

    · Actively promote the community by making guests feel welcome.

    · Arrange and/or participate in special groups and activities such as coffee, news, story hour, games, music, and pet visitation.

    · Decorate common areas of community using seasonal themes.

    · Create a bulletin board with monthly activities, birthdays, and/or other resident highlights.

    · Assist with recordkeeping as requested by Director of Life Enrichment.

    · Keep storage area clean, neat, and organized.

    · Notify Director of Life Enrichment immediately of noticeable differences in resident behavior.

    · Assist in maintaining a safe, clean environment. 

    · Attend mandatory meetings as scheduled by Executive Director.

    · Maintain confidentiality of resident, community, employee, and company information.

    · Maintain working knowledge of fire and disaster plans and responsibilities under emergency conditions.

    · Perform other duties as assigned.

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

    Must satisfy all state health, licensure/certification, and background requirements.

    Education/Experience: Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.  Prefer 6 months to 1 year of experience in geriatric recreational and social activities.

    Certificates and Licenses: Must complete CPR and First Aid certifications, if not current.  Food Handler certification may also be required.  Must meet any additional licensing requirements in state(s) of practice.

    Communication Skills: Receive and carry out verbal or written instruction.  Communicate effectively in person, over the phone, or via email with customers and co-workers.  Make group presentations to share information or explain policies and procedures.

    Organization/Self-Management Skills: Perform a variety of duties, moving between tasks of differing nature, with occasional distractions and interruptions.  Prioritize competing requirements to complete work in a timely manner when there are changes to workload and assignments.

    Computer Skills: Requires proficiency with computers to participate in training and/or other assigned tasks.
