Job Summary

Manage the technical services of the protein category including inventory systems, demand planning, pricing compliance and special projects.

Job Responsibilities and Duties

• Plans and manages relationships with protein, alternative protein, and breading suppliers for the U.S. Supply Chain.
• Monitors potential supply issues, partners cross-functionally to assess root causes and mitigate risk, and identifies continuous improvement opportunities.
• Provides regular forecasts to protein suppliers to ensure adequate inventory and capacity. Monitors actual volume against forecast and adjusts as needed, communicating expansion plans and volume changes to suppliers.
• Maintains full-cycle supplier relationships including business reviews, pricing compliance, inventory planning, supply redundancy, and management of surplus inventory.
• Monitors commodity markets and category cost drivers to identify trends, risks, and cost optimization opportunities. Supports forward-looking cost forecasts and provides insights to inform sourcing and negotiation strategies.
• Analyzes pricing, volume, market, and supplier data to support category decisions. Develops and maintains Excel-based reports, templates, and analytical tools as needed.
• Supports pricing audits across proteins, alternative proteins, and related ingredients to ensure pricing accuracy and compliance.
• Maintains accurate product specifications, pricing, and supplier documentation and communicates relevant changes to internal stakeholders.
• Manages sourcing, planning, tracking, and reporting throughout the product development lifecycle to support successful and on-time product launches.
• Supports supplier negotiations, sourcing initiatives, RFPs, and other projects as needed.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Food & Beverage supply chain, procurement, sourcing, finance, or related experience
• Knowledge of foodservice distribution, agricultural economics, commodities, and/or protein processing preferred
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and translate findings into business insights
• Strong Excel skills with experience working with reports, forecasts, models, or large data sets
• Financial and commercial acumen with an understanding of cost drivers and pricing
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Supplier relationship management and negotiation skills
• Ability to independently learn and utilize new systems, reporting tools, and technologies

Education Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree

Work Experience:

2-4 years

Supervisory Experience:

1-3 years

Physical Requirements

• Basic keyboarding or other repetitive motions: Constantly
• Lifting/pushing objects weighing over 10 lbs.: Constantly
• Climbing and working in awkward and cramped positions: Constantly
• Other: Travel to and walking through farms, ranches, feedyard operations, manufacturing and harvest facilities for all animal species
