Operations Manager

As an Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all transportation and facility operations to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient processing of regulated medical waste. You will lead and develop team members, manage routing and warehouse activities, maintain fleet and equipment readiness, and ensure customer service excellence across assigned regions. You will collaborate closely with Dispatch, Sales, and internal teams to resolve issues promptly, support new customer setups, and drive continuous improvement in productivity and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete routine scheduled preventative maintenance across assigned facilities.
• Manage and oversee transportation and processing operations, collaborating closely with Dispatch and Warehouse Leads.
• Ensure supplies, equipment, and routes are properly staged to support daily deliveries and urgent customer needs.
• Coordinate fleet and equipment maintenance, including documentation of unrepairable equipment for accurate inventory.
• Perform routine quality control checks on sharps washing machines and containers to ensure sanitation standards.
• Monitor, measure, and report operational Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
• Support customer service by ensuring timely new customer setups, addressing missed stops, and coordinating pickups.
• Manage state permits, renewals, and regulatory compliance (DOT, DEQ, EPA, TJC, etc.).
• Hire, schedule, train, and coach staff while fostering a strong safety culture and leading safety meetings.
• Oversee budget and P&L performance, and manage fleet systems including HOS, safety training, and coaching.
