Senior Staff Engineer-Thermal Desktop

What You'll Do

Deliver Technical Support

• Provide technical support to end-users of ANSYS Thermal Desktop, Icepak, and Fluent software by phone, email, and in person. 

• Develop and present technical content tailored to customer needs. 

Provide Technical Training

• Teach ANSYS Thermal Desktop, Icepak, and Fluent classes at client sites, online, and in SimuTech offices across the U.S. and Canada. 

Provide Consulting Services

• Work with customers to determine their analysis requirements and expectations. 

• Develop quotes and proposals by determining project scope, cost, and schedule. 

• Perform all aspects of analysis, including meshing, assigning boundary conditions, solving, post-processing, and drawing conclusions. 

• Work with customers to develop and evaluate alternative design solutions. 

• Prepare analysis reports and other technical documentation. 

• Provide technical mentorship and oversight to less experienced engineers. 

Deliver Expert Pre-Sales Support

• Partner with account managers to identify customer software needs. 

• Answer technical questions throughout the sales process.

• Deliver software demonstrations and technical presentations on a variety of thermal simulation topics.

What You'll Bring

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field required; Master's or PhD preferred. 

• Significant experience performing thermal simulations, particularly using Thermal Desktop and Icepak. 

• Experience working in customer-facing or consulting environments. 

Skills

• Strong foundation in fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and numerical methods. 

• Demonstrated expertise in one or more CFD domains, including multiphase flow, combustion, turbomachinery, aerodynamics, fluid-structure interaction, or heat transfer. 

• Advanced experience with ANSYS Thermal Desktop, Icepak, and Fluent. 

• Experience with meshing tools such as Workbench Meshing, ICEM, Fluent Meshing, or HyperMesh. 

• Ability to manage project scope, timelines, and cross-functional contributors. 

• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Ability to support pre-sales activities and contribute to software and services growth.

• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.

• Ability to work independently and serve as a technical leader within teams.

Location: USA Remote Travel: Up to 25% 

Minimum Experience: 5+ years 

Pay Range: $109,000 - $144,000 USD *(Compensation may vary based on qualifications, skills, experience, and location.)*
