DESCRIPTION
The Customer Experience Analytics (CXA) team is an enablement team: we sit between how product data is created and how it's consumed across the company. On the creation side, we help Product and Engineering teams define event schemas and taxonomy so that data is generated consistently and reliably from the source. On the consumption side, we help other teams use that data in a simple, self-service way. In between, we own data quality, governance, and monitoring — making sure data stays trustworthy from creation to consumption.
This is a mid-level role. We're not looking for someone who already has every tool or years of polished experience — we're looking for someone with solid analytical fundamentals who is genuinely motivated to learn, adapts quickly, and takes ownership of problems until they're resolved. You'll grow into the specifics of our stack; what matters most is how you think and how you work.
You'll work with global teams across time zones, partnering with Product Managers, Engineering Managers, Software Engineers, and Customer Success. Our stack today includes RudderStack, Snowflake, dbt, and Tableau, and we're migrating toward BigQuery and Looker — but familiarity with these specific tools is not a requirement (more on that below).
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Data Quality & Schema Governance: Help define, document, and evolve event schemas and tracking plans. Monitor data quality end-to-end, investigate issues from a metric back to its source, and support the lifecycle process for new and deprecated events.
- Self-Service Enablement: Build and maintain data models, dashboards, and documentation that let Product, Engineering, and other stakeholders answer their own questions without depending on our team for every request.
- Pipeline & Data Modeling: Create and maintain clean, reliable, well-tested data models that other teams and downstream tools can depend on.
- Behavioral & Customer Journey Analysis: Use SQL and product analytics tools to help map user behavior and the customer journey when it's needed to support a schema, quality, or enablement decision — this is part of the job, not the primary focus of it.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Act as a reliable point of contact for Product and Engineering teams on data definitions, event tracking questions, and governance decisions.
- Data Culture: Train stakeholders to use self-serve analytics tools autonomously, and help spread good data practices across the organization.
REQUIREMENTS
- Some experience in Data Analytics, Analytics Engineering, or a similar role — we care more about your ability to learn fast and take ownership than about years of experience.
- Solid SQL fundamentals, with the ability to reason about schemas and data structure, not just write queries.
- Comfortable learning new tools quickly; you don't need prior experience with our specific stack.
- Strong ownership mindset: you take on problems, work through them independently, and know when and how to ask for help when you're stuck.
- Genuine curiosity about data quality, taxonomy, and how data is structured "under the hood" — not just about the insights on top of it.
- A bachelor's degree in a quantitative or business-related subject (e.g., Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, or similar) — or equivalent practical experience.
- Advanced fluency in English, both verbal and written.
NICE TO HAVE
- Exposure to event-driven tracking, product event architecture, or Customer Data Platforms (e.g., RudderStack, Segment).
- Hands-on experience with dbt, BigQuery, Looker and similar tools.
- Experience mapping or analyzing the customer journey (funnels, retention, cohort analysis).
- Experience working in a global company across multiple time zones.
- Telecom, CPaaS, or B2B SaaS experience.
- Advanced fluency in English, both verbal and written.
