Senior Director, Product Management – Partner Platform 

Reports to: Vice President, Product Management – Game, Player & Creator Experiences 

The Senior Director of Product Management, Partner Platform will lead the product organization responsible for making PlayStation the best place for partners to bring great games to players and grow their business. This leader will own the product strategy and outcomes for the end-to-end partner experience, from learning and integrating with PlayStation through publishing, operating and growing games on the platform. Working closely with Engineering, UX Design, Data & Analytics, Developer Relations, Publisher Relations, Business Development, Store, Commerce, Policy and other Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) teams, this leader will establish a cohesive product strategy across a partner experience that spans multiple organizations, technologies and play surfaces. This position requires a senior product leader who can operate at both the strategic and executional level: setting product vision and strategy, developing product leaders, deeply understanding partner needs, making difficult prioritization decisions and personally engaging in the organization’s most important product challenges. 

Key Responsibilities 

Product Strategy & Leadership 

• Own and evolve the product vision and strategy for the PlayStation Partner Platform, focused on making PlayStation the best place for partners to bring great games to players and grow their business. 

• Translate the strategy into clear product outcomes, priorities and investment decisions across the end-to-end partner journey. 

• Maintain a holistic view of partner needs, market dynamics, platform capabilities and business priorities to identify the most important opportunities for PlayStation. 

• Provide senior leadership with clear product recommendations, trade-offs and investment choices. 

Product Organization Leadership 

• Lead, develop and coach a high-performing team of product leaders and product managers. 

• Establish clear ownership, priorities and ways of working across the Partner Platform product portfolio. 

• Build an empowered product culture focused on customer problems and measurable outcomes rather than feature delivery. 

• Ensure teams develop deep understanding of partners through research, data and direct engagement with developers and publishers. 

Partner Experience & Outcomes 

• Drive meaningful improvements across the partner journey, from learning and integration through publishing, operation and growth. 

• Identify and remove unnecessary complexity while improving the clarity, consistency and predictability of the partner experience. 

• Ensure product investments deliver measurable improvements in Partner Health and supporting partner experience and business outcomes. 

• Anticipate how partner needs will evolve as PlayStation expands across new technologies, business models and play surfaces. 

Cross-Functional Product Leadership 

• Build strong partnerships across Engineering, UX Design, Data & Analytics, Developer Relations, Publisher Relations, Business Development, Store, Commerce, Policy and other SIE organizations. 

• Align teams around shared partner outcomes while maintaining clear ownership and decision rights. 

• Surface dependencies, trade-offs and opportunities that span organizational boundaries and drive them toward resolution. 

• Represent Partner Platform Product Management in senior-level SIE strategy, planning and investment discussions. 

Portfolio & Execution 

• Translate strategy into a focused portfolio of investments tied to measurable partner and business outcomes. 

• Prioritize opportunities based on customer value, business value, strategic importance, evidence and opportunity cost. 

• Establish clear measures of success and regularly assess progress, learnings and risks. 

• Ensure teams balance near-term partner needs with foundational platform improvements and longer-term innovation. 

Leadership Expectations 

The Senior Director will lead a team of product leaders while remaining personally engaged in the Partner Platform’s most consequential product decisions. 

The successful candidate must be able to move fluidly between: 

• Setting product vision and strategy 

• Developing and coaching senior product leaders 

• Engaging directly with developers and publishers 

• Making difficult prioritization and investment decisions 

• Aligning Product, Design, Engineering and business partners around shared outcomes 

• Influencing senior leaders across organizational boundaries 

• Reviewing and elevating the quality of product thinking and team output 

• Personally stepping into ambiguous, high-risk or strategically important product challenges 

The role requires strong judgment regarding what to own directly, what to delegate to product leaders and empowered teams, and what appropriately remains owned by other SIE organizations. 

Qualifications 

• Extensive product management and product leadership experience in gaming, technology, developer platforms or another complex digital product environment. 

• Demonstrated experience leading and developing high-performing product management teams and senior product leaders. 

• Experience establishing product vision and strategy across a broad, interconnected product portfolio. 

• Proven ability to translate customer and business problems into clear product strategies, priorities and measurable outcomes. 

• Experience with developer ecosystems, APIs, SDKs, developer tools, publishing platforms, marketplaces or B2B platforms preferred. 

• Demonstrated ability to work effectively across Product, Design, Engineering, Data and business organizations in a highly matrixed environment. 

• Experience engaging directly with sophisticated external customers, developers, publishers or business partners. 

• Strong understanding of product discovery, customer research, analytics and outcome-based product management. 

• Strong business judgment and the ability to balance partner value, player value, technical considerations and business objectives. 

• Exceptional written, verbal and executive presentation skills. 

• Ability to navigate ambiguity, challenge constructively and create clarity across complex organizations. 

• Experience in gaming, developer platforms or digital entertainment preferred.
