    Job description

    • Bachelor's degree in Law or equivalent legal background (law studies, JD track, or equivalent legal education)
    • 1-2 years of professional experience, including internships (recent graduates with hands-on corporate legal internship experience welcome; law firm research experience is less relevant)
    • Fluent English (written and verbal) — this is our primary business language
    • Organized and structured mindset — you thrive on systems, checklists, and methodical workflows. Not creative; rigorous and detail-oriented.
    • Excellent time management and organizational skills — you can juggle multiple deadlines without dropping a ball
    • Corporate legal internship experience is a plus (hands-on contract review and drafting, not legal research)

Are you detail-oriented and driven by purpose? Do you want to be part of a global health-tech company that is making a difference in the world? If this sounds like you, join the SOPHiA GENETICS Legal & Compliance Team as a Compliance Specialist, and enable us to make a positive impact on the outcomes for cancer and rare disease patients worldwide.

We believe there is a smarter, more data-driven way to make decisions in healthcare, and our cloud-native AI powered SOPHiA DDM Platform makes that vision a reality on a daily basis. You will have direct input to our mission to democratize data-driven medicine for the ultimate benefit of cancer and rare disease patients across the globe.

    Your Mission

In this role you will play a critical role in supporting our compliance operations by managing administrative and regulatory activities that ensure SOPHiA GENETICS operates with integrity and compliance across all markets where we operate.

This is an opportunity suited to someone organized, structured, and meticulous—someone who finds purpose in building the operational foundation that allows a strategic compliance team to focus on higher-order regulatory challenges like AI Act compliance and information security certifications.

This is a 6-month temporary contract with strong potential to convert to a permanent role based on performance.

    The value you bring

As a Compliance Specialist, you will:

Support the management and implementation of SOPHiA GENETICS' Compliance programs to ensure adherence to all applicable laws and regulations in every country where our products and services are marketed

Own healthcare compliance operations, including drafting and reviewing healthcare professional engagement contracts, managing declarations to healthcare authorities, and ensuring adherence to international regulations, local laws, and company compliance standards

Manage enterprise insurance operations, including policy administration, claims processing, renewals, and insurer coordination—freeing your leadership team to focus on strategic risk management initiatives

Execute contract administration and review across multiple compliance areas: healthcare compliance agreements, data protection clauses, information security appendices, and general terms—learning the company's compliance framework and negotiation playbook on the job

Support risk management infrastructure, including maintenance of the internal control framework, implementation of mitigation measures, and preparation of periodic reporting to relevant committees

Contribute to compliance communications, including assistance with policy writing, training materials, and guidance documentation to help SOPHiA GENETICS staff understand legal requirements

Stay current on developments in risk management and compliance to keep the organization ahead of regulatory changes

You will be joining an organization with the patient at the heart of every decision and action, driven by purpose as we pursue exponential growth.
