    Role Overview
    To lead the day-to-day technical operations of the Tower responsible for. Reporting to the Infrastructure Manager. Individuals have a direct influence on profitability either as managers or as experts in a particular field. The field can relate to a variety of areas such as knowledge of a particular industry, technology, product or profession. Individuals could be contributors with specialist expertise or responsibility for the management of others.
    This role level is responsible for the provision of advice on policy implementation through such activities as scenario planning or resource modelling to inform strategic choices in decision making. The consequences of decision making would be operationally focused within a strategic framework.
    The Tower Lead is responsible for technical ownership of their respective tower technology, providing support and maintenance. Where Site Lead responsibility is also held, they are responsible for all existing and future Infrastructure at the site.
    Reporting to the Infrastructure Manager, you will be responsible for managing a team of IT professionals, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure high-quality deliverables and professional development.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Management of incidents, requests and changes
    • Work collaboratively across our team to design, build and maintain mission critical systems
    • Technology based requirements are:
    • Deploy, configure, and administer NetApp ONTAP devices and clusters, including AFF, FAS, and E-Series platforms.
      Manage NAS/SAN provisioning, LUN creation, NFS/SMB shares, and storage virtual machines (SVMs).
      Perform capacity planning, performance tuning, and storage optimisation.
      Administer Veeam Backup & Replication, including job design, scheduling, retention, and repository management.
      Integrate Veeam with NetApp storage for snapshot-based backups and rapid recovery workflows.
    • Maintenance and production of technical documentation to facilitate knowledge share and skills development
    • Represent the team at key ITIL process touch points including change advisory boards, problem management, technical design authority, major incident management
    • Provide hands-on engineering support and expertise to complex technical activities such as root cause analysis, trouble shooting, project recovery/remediation plans and technical risk assessments
      Support business and service continuity activities including planning and reporting as well as support security assurance activities including planning and reporting
    • Work with engineers to assure that service infrastructure is maintained with latest firmware and software requirements
    • Monitor and report the overall performance of service components against KPI’s and takes pre-emptive measures to minimise interruptions
    • Operate server services at the quality defined in the respective SLAs
    • Provide technical expertise for engineering activities across the team
    • Follow standard project processes and procedures in order to produce documentation to be used in proposals
    • Evaluate new technologies and platforms to determine whether their applicability aligns with businesses needs
    • Integration and test of new products (both hardware and software) for incorporation into program infrastructure
    • To be aware of the relevant SLA structure and to respond, fix or escalate according to the limits set out within that structure.
    • Contribute to the activities relating to strategic IT projects including business case development, technology assessments, high level design work, due diligence and other activities related to the future technologies
    • Responsible for technical risk assessments and technical approval activities for Projects, Change Management and Problem Management
    • Manage the team including mentoring in order to grow and develop individuals. Creating a structure of SME’s with client centric skills and future proofing our operations by continually enhancing our skills portfolio in line with the unified Digital strategy
    • Project tasks under the guidance of the Project Manager, including: assisting with solution design, Estimating, high level and detailed design work where applicable, implementation.
