Summary
South Bay Solutions is dedicated to 100% customer satisfaction through attention to detail and teamwork. We have an immediate opening for an Assembly Technician responsible for building parts to meet customer quality requirements.
Schedule : Day Shift - Mon - Fri : 8 am to 4:30pm
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assemble parts by following applicable manufacturing documentation.
- Perform basic mechanical assembly, e.g. install Helicoil and Dowel pins, etc.
- Perform inspection to ensure the part meets specifications and standards using instruments such as calipers and height gauges.
- Maintain clean and safe work environment.
- Maintain assembly equipment and tools.
- Collaborate with the Quality Control Department to ensure all assemblies meet quality requirements.
- Maintain proper Job Traveler documentation.
- Report any malfunctions or hazardous conditions in the area to the supervisor.
- Perform other job-related duties.
Qualifications and Skills
- 1-2 years’ experience in machine shop assembly, specifically in Helicoil and Dowel pins.
- Must be able to read and interpret simple blueprints and follow assembly instructions.
- Ability to use calipers, height gages, hand tools, box cutters and other tools effectively.
- Excellent level of hand-eye coordination to work with small components in a controlled manufacturing setting.
- Basic math skills.
Education / Experience
- High School diploma, GED or equivalent plus hands-on experience.
