Position Summary
The Quality Inspector is responsible for maintaining South Bay Solutions' quality standards by inspecting incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products. This role includes analyzing inspection results, documenting findings, and ensuring compliance with customer and company specifications.
Available Shifts
Swing Shift
- Monday through Friday
- 2:30 PM to 11:05 PM
Weekend Shift
- Friday, Saturday, Sunday
- 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications.
- Perform inspections on surface plates and other inspection equipment.
- Measure and test products using a variety of inspection tools and equipment.
- Conduct visual inspections to customer and company requirements.
- Maintain product identification and traceability records.
- Document inspection data, create reports, and issue NCRs within the ERP system.
- Accept or reject products based on inspection results.
- Support quality improvement initiatives and KPI tracking.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Up to 2 years of mechanical inspection experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of GD&T and ASME Y14.5M standards.
- Ability to apply mathematical concepts, geometry, trigonometry, and datum structures.
- Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and data entry.
Preferred Experience
- ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) certification.
- Experience using:
- Keyence Video CMM
- Optical Comparator with Quadra-Chek 200
- Manual Mitutoyo CMM
- Zeiss CMM programs
- Ability to:
- Set up and troubleshoot CMM programs
- Validate parts using multiple inspection methods
- Analyze and trend inspection data and KPIs
- Communicate inspection methods and results effectively
