    Sun - Thurs Overnights (7p - 7a)
    Guaranteed Pay for 40hrs!
    No Weekends/No Holidays!

    About the Job:

    As a member of the Patient Care Services team, the Registered Nurse (On-Call) is readily accessible to respond to surgical emergency outside of the normal surgical schedule hours. The incumbent will care for patients aged 6 months through adulthood who require surgical/invasive interventions under one of

    the various types of anesthesia. Nursing care is delivered utilizing a patient-centered approach and incorporating the Professional Practice Model. The Registered Nurse (On-Call) will provide patientcentered care through teamwork and collaboration to achieve quality patient outcomes. The incumbent will integrate best practices and current evidence-based practices for delivery of optimal health care; will use data to improve quality and safety; and will use informatics and technology to communicate, manage information, mitigate errors, and support decision making.

    • Integrate patient values, best practices, and evidence into patient care.
    • Engage patients and/or families in the care delivery.
    • Function competently within own scope of practice.
    • Utilize a communication style/practice to meet the needs of the team and/or the situation.
    • Delegate care activities to patient care team.
    • Function competently within own scope of practice.
    • Collaborate with other disciplines to provide the patient with comprehensive care.
    • Participate in the incorporation of new evidence into practice.
    • Promote a culture of safety in the work area.
    • Participate in quality initiatives in own care settings and organization wide.
    • Identify quality measures specific to the work area.
    • Apply technology and standardized practices to support patient safety, quality, and patient education.
    • Employ quality and/or process improvement to reduce risk of harm and adverse events.
    • Participate in analyzing errors and designing system improvements.
    • Use Electronic Medical Record information management and documentation technology to accurately and consistently plan and document patient care.

    Education

    • Associate’s degree in nursing required.

    Licensure/Certification

    • Current New Hampshire Registered Nurse license required.
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of hire.

    Competencies

    • Ability to achieve unit-specific competencies within designated timeframes, including:
      • Safe care and handling of surgical equipment
      • Decontamination of surgical instrumentation
      • Scrubbing, gowning, and gloving techniques
      • Aseptic technique
      • Circulating general and specialty surgical cases
      • Operating room equipment setup
      • Microscope and surgical lighting systems
      • Electrosurgical units and laser technology
      • Orthopedic and specialty surgical systems
      • Specialty areas including ENT, Plastics, Ophthalmology, Vascular, Orthopedics, Neurology, Gynecology, Genitourinary, and Robotic Surgery
