Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Designs engaging activities by applying sound principles of Child Development to meet the diverse needs of every student.
- Creates and implements effective Lesson Planning strategies that balance academic support with fun, recreational experiences.
- Maintains a positive and structured environment through proactive Classroom Management techniques that encourage good choices and mutual respect.
- Adapts learning materials and activities using Differentiated Instruction to support unique learning styles and paces.
- Builds strong partnerships with families through regular and transparent Parent Communication regarding student progress and daily activities.
- Tracks student growth and group dynamics through ongoing Student Assessment to refine programs and address individual needs.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Holds a high school diploma or equivalent, with a degree in education, child development, or a related field preferred.
- Completes ongoing professional development hours as required by state and local licensing regulations.
Experience
- Brings at least one year of experience working with school-age children in a formal educational or childcare setting.
- Demonstrates success in running group activities and managing classroom behaviors.
Knowledge/Skills
- Possesses a deep understanding of Child Development milestones for school-age children.
- Executes creative Lesson Planning that keeps older children interested and motivated.
- Applies firm and fair Classroom Management skills to ensure a safe space.
- Tailors lessons using Differentiated Instruction to include all learners.
- Communicates clearly and warmly through effective Parent Communication.
- Observes and evaluates students accurately through daily Student Assessment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Holds current CPR and First Aid certifications.
- Speaks an additional language to support diverse family backgrounds.
Physical Requirements/Work Conditions
- Stands, walks, and moves actively with children for extended periods.
- Lifts and carries supplies or equipment weighing up to 30 pounds.
- Works indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
